Early Planning

• Establish a genuine relationship with the student
• Help the student identify what colleges look for in a successful applicant
• Coach the student on how to conduct the necessary research for the college search: first, identifying and analyzing approximately 25-30 potential college choices; second, prioritizing the top 8-10 colleges to apply to during senior year
• Make high school curriculum recommendations, always tailored to the student's competency in subject areas
• Review extracurricular activities, honors and awards, and make recommendations as needed to present a balanced and intriguing student profile
• Provide content tutoring in areas of need
• Instruct the student when and how often to take standardized tests (PSAT, PLAN, SAT, ACT and SAT2s) and how to prepare
