Marshall Shumsky, Ph. D
Marshall Shumsky, Ph. D., received his doctorate from the University of California at Santa Barbara in the field of cognitive science - the interrelationship among thought, perception, memory, language and behavior. He has served on the faculty of the University of Virginia, Northwestern University and California State University at Northridge, and as a consultant to the Houston, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles Independent School Districts.
In private practice, Dr. Shumsky's primary occupation is advising students and their families on decisions they are facing in terms of learning and education. As a certified educational planner, he counsels on the management and treatment of learning disabilities; administers a proven tutoring program in a wide range of subjects; advises students on successful college applications; and consults with other professionals in the educational and legal systems.
